This month, we are honored to introduce you to Akasha Cervantes, one of our scholarship recipients at Mount Saint Mary College.

Raised in the small Hudson Valley town of Marlboro, Akasha has dreamed of becoming a nurse since childhood. Her journey is one of perseverance, determination, and deep gratitude for her immigrant parents, whose sacrifices have made her education possible.

Her father worked long hours in construction, often leaving home before sunrise and returning after sunset. Her mother, despite never attending high school, instilled in Akasha a love of learning and the belief that education could open doors.

Today, Akasha is pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse, with hopes of someday opening a clinic to provide healthcare to those most in need.

Through the generosity of our Hudson Naturals customers, Akasha has received scholarship support that is helping ease her family’s financial burden and allowing her to focus on her education.

And perhaps the most beautiful part of her story? Akasha hopes to one day extend that same generosity to other students.

That’s the beautiful cycle of giving. One act of generosity creates opportunities for generations to come.
